Certified Holistic Diagnostic Specialist (CHDS)
Holistic Medicine Doctors and Specialist have their own unique diagnostic methods to identify a disorder. These Traditional Medical Practitioners and Specialists have no use for stethoscopes, X-ray machines, or other diagnostic equipment. Instead, diagnosis is made by observation, auscultation, olfaction, questioning, cross-questioning, and pulse-taking which is a method of investigation of its symptoms, signs, and other manifestations. Modern Holistic Practitioners and Specialists take vital signs as a cross-examination.
These methods include Fingernail Analysis, Tongue Analysis, Face Analysis, Iridology, Pulse Diagnosis (different from conventional medicine pulse readings), Imbalance Assessments, Chinese Organ Body Clock method, Meridian Stress Assessments, and more.
More recently, Holistic Medicine doctors have included Live Blood Analysis (Darkfield Microscopy) & Dry Blood Analysis, Hair Mineral Analysis, Vega Diagnosis, Electro-Dermal Screening, Antibody (IgE, IgG), a test for food allergies, and Acid-Alkaline Balance (Ph Testing). Modern Holistic Doctors also request information by Patient Intake Forms.
After their diagnosis and holistic health assessments are complete, doctors and specialist treat their patients with the appropriate multifaceted wellness therapies according to their areas of expertise.
Since Chinese medicine diagnosis relies on a subtle appraisal of a patient's disharmony, many factors beyond traditional Western symptoms are considered, including a patient's voice, the absence of thirst, feeling hot or cold, the patient's smell, tone of voice, the glitter of eyes and more.
In Ayurveda, the concept of diagnosis stems out of the belief that the body is constantly interacting between order and disorder in a balanced way; and diagnosis is the idea of regularly monitoring these interactions on a moment-to-moment basis. Thus, diagnosis in Ayurveda is different from the concept of diagnosis in Western medicine, where the disease is identified after it presents in the body.
In Ayurveda, the disease process is a reaction between the body humors, tridoshas and the dhatus or tissues. The symptoms of every disease are always related to the nature of imbalance among the tridoshas. Once this imbalance is identified, then the balance can be re-established through Ayurvedic treatment and management.
